According to officials, the Yamuna in Delhi has risen above the 206-meter evacuation threshold, forcing the displacement of residents from flood-prone neighborhoods to safer ones. On Monday night in Delhi, the river surpassed the 205.33-meter danger level significantly sooner than expected.

As the Yamuna River rose above the Delhi evacuation level on Tuesday, the historic iron bridge over the river has been temporarily blocked to traffic, according to authorities. The Delhi Vehicles Police tweeted that the Iron Bridge Pusta Road in Gandhi Nagar was closed to the public and to vehicles “until further orders due to dangerous levels of water in the Yamuna River.” It is advisable for commuters to plan their route appropriately.
